Senior Revenue Accountant

About the role

DDN is looking for a detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to support its global revenue accounting function and ensure accurate, timely revenue recognition under ASC 606 and company policy. The role covers reviewing revenue transactions, supporting the month-end close and preparing reconciliations, in a fast-paced environment with complex customer arrangements involving hardware, software, support and services.

Key responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly and year-end revenue close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, deferred revenue rollforwards and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile revenue-related accounts such as deferred revenue, contract assets and unbilled receivables, and other related balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with monthly flux analyses and management reporting on revenue and related accounts.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation and keeping audit-ready records for internal controls over revenue recognition.
• Maintain revenue processes, controls and documentation for accuracy, compliance and scalability.
• Help with system implementations, enhancements and testing to ensure data integrity and ASC 606 compliance.
• Take part in ad hoc projects and special analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 3-4+ years of accounting experience, including 1-2+ years in revenue accounting.
• Working knowledge of ASC 606; software industry experience preferred.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations and account analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast pace, and to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills and ability to handle large data sets and detailed schedules.
• ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
