Senior Regulatory Strategist and Safety Manager

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Senior Regulatory Strategist and Safety Manager to lead regulatory compliance and safety initiatives for its North American customer service operations. The role will ensure that Airbus processes meet the requirements of aviation authorities and support operators across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse rulemaking activities of US government agencies (e.g., DoT, FAA, FCC, CDC) and assess their impact on Airbus Americas customers.
• Disseminate regulatory updates internally, guide implementation of new rules, and prepare quality requirements for customer service activities.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage risk‑opportunity registers during the bid phase, while communicating upcoming mandates to customers.
• Maintain relationships with FAA Flight Standards, Aircraft Certification, and other aviation bodies (A4A, AVA, RAA, NACAS) and understand EASA‑FAA bilateral agreements.
• Act as the focal point for the Safety Management System (SMS) in the North American region, collaborate with the Customer Service Safety & Risk Management team and the Latin American SMS Officer, and participate in ISOEG regional meetings.
• Support the Major Repairs organization as the regional quality expert, maintain the FAA repair station manual (A45.7), oversee internal audits, and serve as the primary contact for FAA and EASA inspectors.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in aviation regulatory affairs and safety management.
• Strong knowledge of US aviation regulations (FAA) and European regulations (EASA) and their bilateral agreements.
• Proven ability to interact with aviation authorities and manage compliance projects.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
