Senior Project Manager

About the role

East Coast Civil Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex civil construction and site development projects across Central North Carolina. This hands‑on position requires strong construction knowledge, leadership, and the ability to manage multiple projects from planning through closeout.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and closeout of multiple civil construction projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate and manage project teams, including foremen, superintendents, subcontractors, and office staff.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans aligned with company goals and client expectations.
• Monitor progress, identify risks or issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strong client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships as the primary point of contact.
• Prepare project reports, progress updates, and documentation for leadership and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior project managers and support continuous improvement of project management processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of project management experience in civil construction or site development.
• Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, utilities, paving, and stormwater systems.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage field and office teams.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience valued.
