Senior Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large‑scale heavy civil construction projects such as highways, bridges, rail, transit, marine and airport infrastructure. The role oversees the project from pre‑construction through close‑out, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and quality targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, scheduling, procurement, execution and close‑out for complex infrastructure projects.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, cost controls and financial reporting to achieve profitability.
• Oversee contract administration, change orders, claims and risk mitigation.
• Develop and maintain master schedules, monitor progress against milestones and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Direct project teams including managers, engineers, superintendents and field staff.
• Mentor personnel, foster technical growth and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with estimating and pre‑construction teams during proposal development and handoff.
• Prepare monthly project reports, executive updates and financial forecasts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 10–15 years of progressive heavy civil construction experience, with at least 5 years managing large infrastructure projects.
• Proven delivery of projects ranging from $100 million to over $1 billion.
• Deep knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling and project controls.
• Experience with Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑Build, CM/GC, Progressive Design‑Build and P3 delivery methods.
