Senior Project Manager – Education Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex education‑focused architecture projects in Houston. You will guide projects from programming through construction administration, ensuring they meet community, client, and design objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead K‑12 and higher‑education projects through all phases: design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
• Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining clear communication and trust.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and consultant coordination.
• Oversee quality control of drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs and change documentation.
• Track financial performance, address issues early, and support project profitability.
• Mentor project architects, designers and emerging professionals.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of architecture experience, preferably with education projects.
• Proven experience leading K‑12, university or institutional projects in Houston or similar public‑sector environments.
• Strong understanding of architectural delivery, consultant coordination, construction documentation and administration.
• Licensed Architect preferred, but strong non‑licensed leaders will be considered.
• Excellent communication, organization and ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with Texas accessibility, permitting, code and public‑education project requirements is a plus.
