Senior Project Manager – Construction (Chicago)

About the role

ConstructionAccel is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead construction projects from inception to close‑out in our Chicago office. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client expectations while coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects at various construction stages and oversee staff including Project Coordinators, Engineers, Managers, and Superintendents.
• Develop project scope, schedule, and coordinate all RFP processes, bid invitations, bid leveling, and contract award recommendations.
• Conduct and document weekly pre‑bid, pre‑construction, and OAC meetings; manage negotiations with general contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Act as client liaison during field visits, coordinate subcontractor activities, and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Prepare and update status reports, purchase orders, invoices, pay applications, and financial tracking.
• Measure project performance against baseline plans, identify cost escalations, and lead the close‑out process including punch‑list completion and warranty documentation.
• Lead estimating efforts and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of post‑graduate experience in construction and project management, including hard‑bid public and federal projects.
• Proven ability to review and interpret plans and specifications from schematic design through construction drawings.
• Strong analytical, multitasking, and independent work capabilities.
