Senior Project Engineer – Thermal Energy Storage

About the role

Antora Energy is looking for a self‑driven, passionate engineer to join its project execution team and help deliver zero‑carbon industrial heat and power with a novel solid‑state thermal battery. As a Senior Project Engineer you will focus on balance‑of‑plant (BOP) systems for test and commercial thermal energy storage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate internal and external engineering resources to design, construct, commission, and troubleshoot BOP systems.
• Maintain and align project technical documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, SLDs, cause‑and‑effect diagrams, as‑built drawings) across engineering and external parties.
• Review mechanical, structural, and electrical design deliverables to ensure they meet requirements and support field implementation.
• Create and review construction work plans, submittal packages, and commissioning plans, and hand over inspection test plans to the commissioning team.
• Support supply‑chain and procurement by drafting RFPs, reviewing quotes, and evaluating vendor technical capabilities.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on cost, schedule, and risk management, maintaining the project action log.
• Provide on‑site presence during engineering, construction, and commissioning phases to ensure coordination and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (civil, construction management, industrial, process, chemical, etc.) and/or 5+ years of industrial project engineering experience.
• Experience working with EPC teams.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications such as PFDs, P&IDs, SLDs, and cause‑and‑effect diagrams.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced, startup‑like environment.

Required skills

• Construction estimating tools (ACCE, ICARUS).
• 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Navisworks) and 2D drafting (AutoCAD).
• Technical writing for equipment specifications and reports.
• Vendor and client relationship management.
• Contractor management.
