Senior Project Engineer – Missile Systems Lead

About the role

Moog’s Defense Engineering group in East Aurora, NY is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead missile systems development projects. Reporting to the Technical Director, Missile Systems, you will drive technical scope, schedule and cost performance for multiple development programs, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee technical, cost and schedule performance for missile system development programs.
• Validate concepts through trade studies, analyses and test documentation.
• Lead a cross‑functional team of designers, analysts, technicians and manufacturing engineers.
• Mentor and train junior project engineers.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers.
• Develop proposal volumes and provide costing support for the Mission Enabling Services Group.
• Occasional travel for customer meetings and business development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
• At least 3 years leading technical development projects.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Contractor Security Clearance (currently held preferred).

Required skills

• Experience with new product development and lifecycle management.
