Senior Project Architect – New York Studio

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Architect to join our New York studio and lead the design, documentation, and implementation of a diverse portfolio of cultural, educational, historic, and residential projects. The role combines hands‑on design work with mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all design phases from concept and feasibility through schematic, design development, construction documents, and administration for multiple projects.
• Participate in client, consultant, stakeholder, and regulatory meetings.
• Prepare and coordinate technical documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Mentor junior architects and designers, providing design and technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and guidelines, especially NYC building codes and zoning.
• Resolve design challenges during construction and review drawing sets at each phase.
• Integrate sustainable design strategies and energy‑efficient solutions.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) and active New York licensure.
• 15+ years of practice with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience on institutional and residential projects with complex programs.
• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent organization, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with NYC building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
• LEED accreditation or similar sustainability certification is a plus.
