Senior Product Designer

About the role

A fast-growing SaaS company, recently named a Top 10 Start-up in Chicago by LinkedIn and a Top Start-up by BuiltIn and backed by Y Combinator, is looking for a Senior Product Designer. The role spans the full product lifecycle, from defining ambiguous problems to refining high-fidelity solutions and collaborating with engineering through implementation. It is a direct-hire position requiring in-person presence at the office four days a week, and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Own product work end to end: partner with product and engineering to define problems, explore solutions, validate concepts and ship improvements that move key metrics, staying involved through launch and iteration.
• Use AI tools such as Claude to clarify intent, draft short PRDs and surface risks and edge cases, then validate assumptions with customer interviews and quick tests.
• Prototype flows and simple interfaces with AI-assisted tools such as Cursor and Claude Code, then bring validated concepts into Figma with full state coverage and system alignment.
• Design for the 80/20 rule: keep the default experience simple while encoding judgment and complexity under the hood.
• Share prompts, patterns and learnings with the product org and take part in critiques and reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing software.
• Demonstrated experience independently leading design initiatives from discovery through launch and iteration.
• Strong attention to detail and a strong eye for visual craft such as composition, typography and layout.
• Ability to distill problems and feedback into clear, focused solutions, with effective written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: familiarity with designing intuitive experiences for real-world office and field scenarios.
