Senior Process Engineer – Semiconductor

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Process Engineer with deep expertise in the semiconductor industry to lead process engineering efforts for advanced manufacturing and high‑tech facility projects. The role is based in Boise, Idaho, and involves designing, optimizing, and implementing process systems for cleanroom and fab environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of process engineering systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
• Support fab projects including process utility systems, tool installation, process integration, and facility upgrades.
• Develop and review process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Provide technical leadership for chemicals, gases, ultrapure water, wastewater, slurry, and specialty process systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and manufacturing teams.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure technical alignment and successful delivery.
• Perform process analysis, troubleshooting, risk assessments, and system performance evaluations.
• Support commissioning, startup, validation, and operational readiness activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of process engineering experience with significant semiconductor industry exposure.
• Strong knowledge of cleanroom operations and high‑purity process systems.
• Experience with semiconductor utilities such as specialty gases, bulk chemicals, ultrapure water, wastewater treatment, vacuum and exhaust systems.
• Proficiency in developing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and design documentation.
• Understanding of applicable engineering codes, standards, and safety practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to work onsite in Boise or relocate as needed.
