Senior Principal Medical Science Liaison – Mid Atlantic

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Principal Medical Science Liaison for the Mid‑Atlantic region to support its Glaucoma portfolio. The role is part of Alcon’s Research & Development function and focuses on scientific exchange, clinical trial oversight, and regulatory compliance to advance patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain peer‑to‑peer relationships with medical experts and key opinion leaders.
• Present scientific and clinical information on Alcon products and gather external insights to influence strategy.
• Provide medical information to practitioners and respond to unsolicited requests.
• Engage in scientific discussions around product data and support product adoption through evidence‑based exchange.
• Implement and manage investigator‑initiated trials from inception to publication, including phases III and IV.
• Collaborate with Medical Information, Medical Safety, and other functions to resolve product complaints and safety issues.
• Prepare regulatory reports and serve as a medical consultant to marketing, commercial, and research teams.
• Ensure compliance with GxP regulations, SOPs, and company policies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in medical affairs or medical science liaison roles within ophthalmology or related therapeutic areas.
• Proven track record in managing clinical trials, especially phases III and IV.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, adverse event reporting, and GxP compliance.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific data to both internal and external stakeholders.
