Senior Platform Engineer

About the role

We are hiring Senior Platform Engineers to build the product and systems through which customers experience Clark. You will own features from the initial customer problem through frontend experience, backend architecture, data models, integrations, deployment, and production operation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and ship customer‑facing product features from frontend through backend.
• Build intuitive interfaces for complex audit and accounting workflows.
• Design APIs, services, data models, background jobs, and overall application architecture.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to turn AI capabilities into reliable product experiences.
• Develop integrations, connectors, synchronization systems, and data‑ingestion workflows.
• Improve reliability, stability, scalability, performance, observability, and operational tooling.
• Investigate production issues, resolve performance bottlenecks, and enhance testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Partner directly with customers, audit engineers, customer success, implementation, sales, and product teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production web applications.
• Strong frontend and backend fundamentals with ability to own features end‑to‑end.
• Experience designing APIs, data models, background processing, and integrations.
• Comfortable working directly with users and incorporating feedback quickly.
• Excellent judgment around reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• High ownership, strong communication, and ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
