Senior Physicist / Scientist – OPC & Resist Modeling

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a highly motivated, hands‑on technical individual to support OPC, resist modeling, and SMO for cutting‑edge optical devices within the advanced lithography group.

Key responsibilities

• Technically lead and execute engineering projects, define experiments, and analyze data to support technical decisions.
• Lead development and execution of complex system projects, approve qualification results, and troubleshoot a wide range of complex problems.
• Own OPC infrastructure, resist‑modeling sampling plans, data cleaning, and SMO/RET down‑selection.
• Mentor less‑experienced physicists/scientists and present verification readouts before final tape‑out.

Required profile

• MS or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years hands‑on OPC, resist modeling, and SMO in the semiconductor industry.
• In‑depth knowledge of lithography materials and processes, with strong ability to communicate complex ideas to senior stakeholders.
• Proven track record of leading high‑risk, complex projects and influencing product risk‑management decisions.
