Senior Patent Engineer

About the role

Bitdeer seeks a Senior Patent Engineer to lead its global IP strategy, supporting cutting‑edge Bitcoin mining, AI, and high‑performance computing technologies. You will shape patent processes, drive innovation protection, and manage complex IP portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve end‑to‑end patent application processes, from invention capture to filing and maintenance.
• Establish incentive programs for R&D teams and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Strategically manage the international patent portfolio, aligning with market dynamics and business goals.
• Lead licensing negotiations, cross‑licensing agreements, and standard‑essential patent strategies.
• Develop risk mitigation protocols, monitor infringement, and run IP training to foster a strong IP culture.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5–7 years of experience in patent engineering, IP management, or similar roles within technology‑driven organizations or reputable IP agencies.
• Strong knowledge of US patent laws, procedures, and experience in US patent prosecution.
• Proven track record designing and implementing patent management systems and incentive programs.
• Experience handling IP litigation, dispute resolution, and licensing negotiations.

Required skills

• Deep technical expertise in semiconductor, microelectronics, and server chip technologies.
• Knowledge of high‑performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) domains.
• Familiarity with open‑source standards such as RISC‑V and related compliance requirements.
• Ability to conduct competitive patent analysis and develop defensive IP strategies.
