Senior Operations Research Analyst – Cost Estimation

About the role

The Senior Operations Research Analyst will support an Army Product Office by developing and defending cost estimates that guide acquisition decisions. Based at Redstone Arsenal, the analyst will work independently to produce accurate, technically sound cost forecasts for systems and programs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct independent cost analyses for assigned programs.
• Create and maintain lifecycle cost estimates using ACE-IT.
• Develop cost‑estimating methodologies based on available data.
• Provide expert technical analyses, budgetary advice, and guidance on resource allocations.
• Analyze Earned Value Management reports and present recommendations to the Product Manager.
• Prepare briefing materials and status charts communicating cost forecasts and program health.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or operations research (preferred).
• 10+ years of relevant experience supporting executive‑level leadership.
• Strong understanding of US Army acquisition processes.
• Resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
• Experience using ACE‑IT for cost modeling.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management reporting.
