Senior Operations Coordinator

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking a Senior Operations Coordinator to support the Process team on a 2nd‑shift schedule (3 pm‑11 pm) at its East Aurora, NY facility. The role blends coordination, technical oversight, and hands‑on work to ensure smooth production flow.

Key responsibilities

• Assign work, identify equipment and staffing needs, and coordinate set‑up of work areas.
• Provide technical expertise for complex setups, operations, procedures and regulatory issues.
• Lead Lean and process‑improvement initiatives to reduce cost and increase quality.
• Coach and develop team members, and act as supervisor in their absence.
• Operate machines and equipment or perform functional hands‑on tasks up to 30 % of the time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with ≥3 years experience, or associate degree with ≥7 years, or high‑school diploma with ≥11 years experience.
• Demonstrated ability to follow verbal, written and computer instructions in English.
• Strong numerical aptitude (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Required skills

• Lean methodology and continuous‑improvement tools.
• Process analysis and documentation.
• Machine operation and basic equipment handling.
