Senior Nurse Manager RN PCU Cardiovascular

About the role

AdventHealth South Orlando is hiring a Senior Nurse Manager RN for its PCU Cardiovascular unit (GT8), a day-shift, full-time position. The unit is a step-down unit for patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery such as coronary bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, TAVR, pericardial window, device explantation and laser lead extraction, as well as thoracic and abdominal aneurysm repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee staff performance, manage staffing, hiring, orientation and discipline, and foster an inclusive work environment.
• Manage budgets and resources, maintain appropriate staffing and understand healthcare finance.
• Lead performance and quality improvement initiatives, implement evidence-based practice changes and ensure compliance with professional standards and hospital policies.
• Provide leadership and mentorship, support staff development and plan patient care delivery.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and build positive relationships with patients, staff, vendors and other departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's preferred).
• 2+ years of acute care clinical experience.
• RN license, BLS/CPR certification and ACLS certification.
• Human resource management, financial management and performance improvement competencies.
• Knowledge of broad clinical nursing and evidence-based practice standards.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel (PowerPoint preferred).
• Leadership, communication, relationship building, critical thinking and problem solving.
• Ability to work in a matrix-management environment and to mentor others.

The pay range is $86,382.40 to $160,680.00. Positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening.
