Senior Nuclear Thermal-Hydraulics Engineer

About the role

Radiant Industries is developing the world’s first mass‑produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The Senior Nuclear Thermal‑Hydraulics Engineer will lead thermal‑hydraulics and coupled‑physics analysis for the Kaleidos 1‑MW microreactor, ensuring safe and efficient operation under both normal and accident conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute thermal‑hydraulics analyses for reactor design and safety performance.
• Develop coupled physics models that integrate thermal‑hydraulics with neutronics and structural response.
• Identify and implement best practices for reactor thermal‑hydraulics and systems‑code analysis.
• Build automated simulation workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with reactor physics, mechanical, and safety teams to support licensing and design trade studies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant industry or national‑laboratory experience.
• Proven experience with thermal‑hydraulics analysis and reactor systems codes.
• Experience with high‑temperature (≥500°F) heat‑transfer analysis.
• Strong ability to communicate technical information across cross‑functional teams.
