Senior NPI Demand Planner – Demand Management

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior NPI Demand Planner to serve as the materials nerve center for new product introduction programs. You will translate complex engineering bills of materials into actionable procurement signals and drive material readiness across multiple program phases.

Key responsibilities

• Explode multi‑level BOMs in SAP, assess material availability, and generate component‑level demand signals.
• Manage BOM change orders, capacity constraints, and create SAP material reservations or Planning BOMs.
• Run weekly shortage reports in SAP (MD04), maintain a risk register, and drive escalations with commodity buyers.
• Serve as single point of contact for business units, providing weekly material health updates and commit dates.
• Track NPI material spend, perform variance analysis, and support budget planning with bottom‑up BOM cost roll‑ups.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in NPI or pilot manufacturing materials planning.
• Strong knowledge of multi‑level BOM structures, SAP MRP, and supply‑chain best practices.
• Ability to work independently across concurrent programs and act as a resource for less‑experienced planners.

Required skills

• SAP MRP and material reservations (including MD04).
• Kinaxis Rapid Response for scenario planning.
• Experience with BOM explosion, planning BOMs, and purchase requisition creation.
