Senior Medical Science Liaison - Oncology Lung/Pan Tumor (Northern California & Hawaii)

About the role

Genentech is hiring a Therapeutic Area Medical Science Liaison (TA MSL) for oncology lung and pan-tumor products, based in Northern California and Hawaii. The TA MSL acts as a scientific partner for healthcare providers, population health decision makers and patients, sharing clinical and health economic information on approved and pipeline medicines. The role is field-based, with significant business travel (up to 70% of time) and overnight travel sometimes required.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver an end-to-end customer experience for the therapeutic area's customers in the region
• Show deep scientific expertise in assigned molecules and therapeutic areas, exchanging information with thought leaders and healthcare decision makers
• Build and leverage relationships with external scientific and medical customers to understand evolving healthcare trends
• Cover topics beyond scientific exchange, such as value and cost of care discussions and adverse event management
• Keep up with continuous learning in the therapeutic area, participate in upskilling programs and follow guidelines and procedures

Required profile

• Advanced clinical or science degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA, etc.) or BSN with extensive field medical experience in a pharmaceutical company
• At least 5 years of related work experience (clinical, managed care or industry)
• Preferred: prior experience as a field medical science liaison, 2+ years of clinical or health economic research, 2 years in the therapy area, and in-depth knowledge of Phase IV/post-marketing drug development
• Reside within 30 miles of a major airport and within 50 miles of the territory; preference for preferred states of residence

Required skills

• Proficiency in GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and ICH
• Knowledge of product and safety profiles, managed care, health economics, reimbursement and the regulatory landscape

What we offer

• Expected salary range of $161,300 - $299,500, depending on experience, qualifications and location
• A discretionary annual bonus may be available
