Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Nimble, you will lead the mechanical design of the systems that power our autonomous robotic platforms. You will be responsible for everything from structural concepts and mechanisms to precision assemblies and production‑ready hardware, ensuring that each component meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete mechanical designs for robotic platforms, including structures, mechanisms, and assemblies.
• Perform structural and stress analysis to validate designs under real‑world loads.
• Apply GD&T and tolerancing principles to ensure manufacturability and assembly precision.
• Select appropriate materials and define design‑for‑manufacturing strategies.
• Collaborate closely with controls, electrical, embedded, and perception teams to integrate mechanical components into full robotic systems.
• Drive part qualification, testing, and production readiness throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in mechanical design for robotics, automation, or related high‑tech hardware.
• Strong expertise in structural analysis, GD&T, tolerancing, and material selection.
• Demonstrated ability to design for manufacturing and to lead parts through qualification to production.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills and a high‑agency mindset for delivering complex projects.
