Senior Market Development Manager

About the role

The Senior Market Development Manager will partner with one or more wholesalers to drive sales performance, retail execution and operational excellence in a defined geographic area. Working closely with the Area General Manager, the role focuses on aligning business plans with company objectives and delivering growth for the Constellation portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own an Annual Business Plan that sets volume, distribution and space growth targets while securing agreement on tactical funds and resource allocation.
• Identify market‑specific development opportunities to increase Constellation share and meet national priorities.
• Conduct monthly meetings with wholesaler leadership to review progress, address gaps and adjust plans.
• Collaborate with Brand Managers, Field Marketing and National Sales teams to align retail marketing initiatives and sponsorship opportunities.
• Monitor wholesaler inventory levels, resolve out‑of‑stock issues and provide forecasting adjustments.
• Lead pricing surveys, communicate promotional calendars and flag competitive pricing activity.
• Supervise point‑of‑sale material allocation and ensure compliance with budgeting and market objectives.
• Develop trimester plans with the Area GM, setting mutually agreed volume and distribution goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing wholesaler relationships and driving market development in a consumer goods or beverage environment.
• Strong analytical and forecasting abilities with a track record of meeting sales targets.
• Excellent communication and partnership skills to work with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans and adapt tactics based on market feedback.
