Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join its Military Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA. You will work on developing and maturing manufacturing processes for production hardware, supporting both new product introductions and legacy programs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform drawing reviews and apply DFMA principles for new product introductions.
• Develop cost‑effective, quality‑based manufacturing processes and design tooling, fixtures, and specialized cutting tools.
• Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing process prove‑outs to achieve target yield and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement in the machine shop and review legacy manufacturing plans for compatibility.
• Recommend and implement automation, advanced manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Research, specify, and purchase capital equipment to increase capacity.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to optimize manufacturing facilities and processes.
• Provide technical ownership, programming support, and troubleshooting for gear production equipment such as hobbers and shapers.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or defense.
