About the role
Starbucks is seeking a senior leader to head the Roasted Coffee Quality & Operations team. This role will drive technical stewardship of roasted coffee quality across the global roasting network, ensuring precision, repeatability and scalability.
Key responsibilities
- Set and execute global coffee quality strategy, harmonising standards, sensory protocols and roasting best practices.
- Lead the Roasting Center of Excellence, advancing enterprise roasting standards and training frameworks.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor on end‑to‑end coffee quality from green bean to roasted product.
- Develop and implement strategic and operational plans that balance long‑term priorities with day‑to‑day execution.
- Drive continuous improvement using data, KPIs and operational insights to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure governance, compliance and business continuity for all roasting and quality functions.
- Strengthen and grow capabilities across roasting and sensory teams, fostering an inclusive high‑performance environment.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in roasting science, sensory methodology and process control.
- Proven ability to lead global, cross‑functional teams and drive enterprise‑wide initiatives.
- Strong strategic thinking with a track record of delivering operational excellence.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to inclusive leadership.
