Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs – Advertising & Promotion Strategy

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Regulatory Affairs for advertising and promotion across pharma and OTC product lines. The role sits within the Quality & Regulatory Affairs function and ensures that all promotional activities comply with global, local and internal regulations while supporting business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regulatory reviews of advertising and promotional materials and manage electronic submissions to regulatory agencies.
• Monitor US and international regulatory promotional environments, including guidelines, enforcement letters and advisories.
• Provide proactive regulatory advice to Marketing and Medical Affairs on product claims, disease‑state communications and sales campaigns.
• Recommend clinical trial designs that enable future marketing claims and ensure product information updates are reflected in promotions.
• Oversee multiple pharma and OTC projects, interpreting regulations for products, financial processes and related practices.
• Investigate and resolve compliance issues raised by internal units, customers or regulators.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and training programs to increase employee awareness of compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in regulatory affairs for pharmaceutical and OTC products, specifically in advertising and promotion.
• Strong knowledge of US and global regulatory frameworks governing promotional activities.
• Proven ability to interpret regulations, manage compliance risks and advise cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
