Senior Manager, Programs (Hybrid)

About the role

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Miami seeks a full‑time Senior Manager, Programs to oversee day‑to‑day administration of its programs. Working in a hybrid setting, the incumbent will ensure high‑quality delivery of initiatives to faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and report on program effectiveness.
• Monitor program budgets and track expenditures.
• Stay informed on market trends and legislation affecting program functions.
• Verify, organize, and prepare grants, procurement and related documents.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate program staff to ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate logistics for program events and activities.
• Collaborate with other departments to raise program awareness.
• Identify emerging needs and develop new programs, initiatives, and resources.
• Establish and assess internal controls, ensuring compliance with university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong operational management skills to optimize daily processes.
• Organizational development expertise for improving effectiveness and managing change.
• Financial oversight knowledge for budget monitoring.
• Team leadership ability to build cohesive, productive teams.
• Technical proficiency relevant to program administration.
