Senior Manager, Financial Reporting

About the role

Anthropic is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead its financial reporting function. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Lead, you will ensure accurate, GAAP‑compliant statements and support the company’s rapid growth in AI technology.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual external financial statements in full compliance with US GAAP.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, coordinating with accounting teams.
• Conduct technical accounting research on complex transactions such as stock‑based compensation (ASC 718), derivatives (ASC 815), and lease accounting (ASC 842).
• Support implementation and daily operation of Workiva for reporting, controls documentation, and compliance.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, managing audit requests and documentation.
• Design and implement internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and maintain accounting policies.
• Partner with Finance Systems to integrate ERP and reporting platforms.
• Collaborate with Legal, Investor Relations, Tax, Equity Accounting, and Finance & Strategy teams.
• Lead special projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA license (or actively pursuing certification).
• 10+ years of accounting experience, including financial reporting and technical accounting.

Required skills

• US GAAP compliance.
• ASC 718, ASC 815, ASC 842 expertise.
• Workiva reporting platform.
• ERP system integration.
• Internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
• Preparation of external financial statements.
