Senior Manager, Event Services

About the role

The Senior Manager, Event Services will lead the centralized conference services for Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Bryan, Texas. Reporting to senior leadership, this role designs, documents, implements and monitors a comprehensive event strategy that supports the School of Public Health and related departments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the full lifecycle of events, including reservations, scheduling, planning, execution and post‑event evaluation.
• Supervise a team of full‑time staff and student workers, ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
• Develop and manage event budgets, handle billing, and negotiate with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, facility usage guidelines and risk‑management procedures.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders such as faculty, staff and students, as well as external partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of experience in event planning, hospitality management or a related area; eight or more years preferred.
• Proven experience supervising teams in a higher‑education or large‑institution setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendor contracts and liability issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with event management platforms.
• Experience using scheduling tools.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
