Senior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety

About the role

Stryker is looking for a Senior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) in Irvine, California. The role manages the reliable delivery of the Employee Health and Safety strategy, executing Global Quality Operations (GQO) level strategy and partnering with the business and the plant leadership team. It is an onsite position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the EHS strategy, scope, schedule, costs, resources and risks, coordinating stakeholders and managing the resources needed.
• Act as the employee health and safety advisor to division manufacturing partners and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Manage the EHS team and people processes, building a culture of performance, accountability and engagement.
• Deliver metrics and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee the Emergency Response Program, including assessments, resources and training.
• Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and monitor emerging trends.
• Manage change processes affecting EHS and promote risk assessment and reduction programs.
• Estimate annual EHS expenditures and contribute to capital expenditure requests.
• Collaborate with corporate departments such as Corporate Social Responsibility and Risk Management.
• Coach and develop the performance and career objectives of EHS support staff.
• Oversee onsite security, including access control, visitor and contractor management, security service providers, incident response and protection of employees, facilities and assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 10+ years of working experience, preferably in Operations, Industrial Manufacturing, EHS, Quality or a related field.

Required skills

• Preferred: Six Sigma certification.
• Preferred: Project management experience.
• Preferred: proven people leadership experience.
• Preferred: experience revamping EHS culture, policies and programs.
