Senior Manager, Data Engineering

About the role

The Senior Manager, Data Engineering will lead the team that builds and maintains the data platforms powering reporting, analytics, operational decisions and future AI capabilities at NinjaHoldings. This technical leadership role requires setting direction, developing talent and ensuring the platform evolves with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Data Engineering team and define technical direction for Snowflake, PostgreSQL and data pipelines.
• Own the transition to a Medallion architecture, establishing standards for ingestion, transformation, testing and documentation.
• Partner with application engineering on database design, schema changes, performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, finance, risk, marketing and other business units to deliver reusable data solutions.
• Implement strong engineering practices around data quality, automated testing, observability, lineage, security and incident response.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing data engineers or technical teams.
• Proven ability to balance architectural vision with hands‑on implementation when needed.
• Strong communication skills to work across engineering, analytics and business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Snowflake, dbt, SQL.
• PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, performance tuning).
• Data ingestion tools such as Fivetran and Meltano.
• Cloud platform experience, preferably AWS.
• Python or Ruby for automation and data processing.
