Senior Maintenance Technician (Utility Systems)

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician for its ARI site. The role covers operating utility systems and performing maintenance activities, on a rotating 12-hour day shift (7 AM to 7 PM, day of week varies per schedule). The expected annual salary range in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $83,593.25 to $113,096.75.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance activities safely, correctly and on time, following applicable procedures
• Report issues and opportunities observed in a timely manner
• Keep measurement targets: no lost-time injuries or near-miss incidents, minimal rework, appropriate labor hours and full compliance with procedures

Required profile

• Basic: high school diploma / GED and 2 years of maintenance work or military experience, or an associate's degree and 6 months of maintenance work or military experience
• Preferred: 5+ years of combined education, training and experience in utility, HVAC and refrigeration systems and maintenance, including clean/sanitary utilities
• Preferred: 3+ years of knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic systems
• Preferred: experience in a highly regulated function (cGMP)

Required skills

• Knowledge of rigging, welding, plumbing and pipefitting
• Experience executing and documenting maintenance work orders in the Maximo computerized maintenance management system
• Experience with building automation systems related to utility/HVAC
• Ability to interpret P&ID drawings
• Strong computer skills and ability to give technical advice, work with minimal direction and communicate task status clearly
