Senior Linux System Administrator

About the role

Intelligent Waves is looking for a Senior Linux System Administrator to join its Infrastructure Services team. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the production Linux environment, supporting the full service lifecycle from design through deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and patch Linux servers in production and test environments.
• Automate routine tasks using Unix shell scripts, Ansible playbooks, and Ansible Tower.
• Perform security hardening, patching, and compliance remediation according to DoD STIGs.
• Monitor system performance, respond to alerts, and maintain NTP services.
• Manage satellite servers, software releases, and patch distribution.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, and container platforms.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 6‑8 years or Master’s degree with 4‑6 years of Linux operations experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Proven ability to work both independently and within an ITIL‑based team.
