Senior Lead Software Engineer – AWS Data & AI/ML

About the role

Join an agile team within JPMorgan Chase's Commercial and Investment Banking division to design, build, and deliver secure, scalable technology products. As a Senior Lead Software Engineer you will drive business impact by applying deep technical expertise across cloud, data, and AI/ML domains.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and direction to internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop, review, and debug secure, high‑quality production code.
• Lead adoption and governance of AI‑assisted engineering practices such as code review, test acceleration, and incident analysis.
• Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI‑enabled automation, to improve development efficiency at scale.
• Advocate firm‑wide frameworks, tools, and best practices across the engineering community.
• Influence peers and decision‑makers on the use of leading‑edge technologies.
• Contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.

Required profile

• Formal training in software engineering with 10+ years of applied experience.
• Extensive experience building and operating AWS or other public‑cloud applications.
• Hands‑on experience with pipelines and DAGs for data processing or machine learning.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Proven ability to lead the effective use of enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted development tools and set validation standards for correctness, performance, and security.
• Deep understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Proficiency in cloud and AI/ML software practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
