Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Cheesecake Factory is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its support center in Calabasas Hills, CA. This hybrid position (minimum three days onsite) reports to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit and plays a key part in maintaining SOX compliance and internal control effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Support the annual SOX compliance program through walkthroughs, control testing, and assessment of design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
• Assist in planning, executing, and reporting on internal audits and advisory projects, including risk assessment, control evaluation, and documentation of findings.
• Manage, track, and facilitate timely remediation of identified control deficiencies.
• Prepare control deficiency aggregation analysis and report results to senior management.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, coordinating walkthroughs and testing timelines.
• Manage and maintain the Optro (AuditBoard) SOX automation tool, handling updates, tracking, and reporting.
• Identify operational efficiencies, process improvements, and control enhancements during audit engagements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• CPA, CIA, or CISA designation (or actively pursuing one).
• Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience.
• Strong project‑management abilities with the capacity to multitask across multiple audits.
• Critical thinker who can analyze information and devise creative solutions.
• Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, able to build relationships across the organization.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AuditBoard (Optro) SOX automation platform.
