Senior Information Security Engineer (Hybrid, Sandy, UT)

About the role

Opengear is looking for a Senior Information Security Engineer to design, implement and continuously improve security across its networking appliances, software platforms, SaaS offerings and corporate systems. The role works closely with engineering, DevOps, QA and product teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain security controls for cloud (AWS, Azure), SaaS and on‑premises environments.
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and secure coding practices.
• Lead vulnerability management: identification, prioritisation, remediation tracking and reporting.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modelling and risk analysis for products and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain security tooling, automation and monitoring capabilities.
• Monitor, investigate and respond to security incidents, coordinating remediation.
• Support compliance initiatives and security audits with technical evidence.
• Mentor engineers and raise overall security capability within the organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in information security.
• Strong expertise in cloud security, application security, vulnerability management, incident response and security automation.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering and product teams.
