Senior Industrial Engineer

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to lead innovative problem‑solving and transformation initiatives across its healthcare system. The role combines industrial and systems engineering techniques with financial analysis, statistics, project management, and Lean Six Sigma principles to improve patient experience and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced statistical and financial analysis to senior management and project teams for strategic and operational decisions.
• Develop, recommend, and implement analytical solutions that support organization‑wide decision‑making.
• Lead department‑level improvement initiatives and network‑wide projects, using continuous‑improvement tools to reduce waste and improve cycle times.
• Collaborate directly with senior leadership to achieve network goals and strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Healthcare Management, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience improving operations, conducting complex analytical studies, and managing projects.
• Proven ability to use continuous‑improvement tools such as process mapping, root‑cause analysis, value‑stream mapping, Pareto charts, and 5 Whys.
• Exposure to financial analytics and ability to calculate cost savings.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio.
• Experience with simulation software (e.g., SIMUL8, Arena, FlexSim, ProModel).
• Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, SAS).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (ICGB).
