Senior Indirect Tax Analyst

About the role

Discord is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to join its global tax team. The role will support the company’s rapid international growth by managing indirect tax compliance and contributing to corporate tax strategy across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end management of sales and use tax, VAT/GST and other indirect tax obligations, coordinating with external advisors.
• Preparation and review of U.S. federal, state and international corporate income tax returns and oversight of the ASC 740 provision process.
• Execution of international tax workstreams, including transfer‑pricing documentation, intercompany transactions and cross‑border compliance for new product launches.
• Responding to tax authority notices and audits, and researching tax incentives, credits and legislative changes.
• Preparation of month‑end and quarter‑end tax workpapers, reconciliations, journal entries and equity award tax reporting.
• Administration and optimisation of tax technology platforms, driving implementation of new tools and process automation.
• Identification of opportunities to improve tax processes, documentation, internal controls and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of corporate tax experience, with a strong focus on indirect tax.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Finance, Legal, Engineering and external advisors.
• Detail‑oriented, intellectually curious and comfortable handling multi‑jurisdictional tax challenges.

Required skills

• Knowledge of sales/use tax, VAT/GST compliance.
• Familiarity with ASC 740 income tax provision standards.
• Experience with transfer‑pricing documentation and intercompany transaction analysis.
• Proficiency in tax technology platforms and automation tools.
