Senior Indirect Tax Analyst

About the role

RRD is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to manage and oversee state, local, and provincial sales/use tax compliance across its global operations. The role involves preparing tax returns, advising on tax implications of business initiatives, and supporting audit and acquisition activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file state, local, and provincial sales/use tax returns and related reports.
• Conduct complex tax compliance activities and support tax‑planning projects.
• Verify accuracy of general‑ledger tax accruals and monthly divisional tax data.
• Maintain proper documentation for exempt customers and miscellaneous charge invoicing.
• Assist in collection and payment of taxes through various tax programs.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate sales‑tax refund claims.
• Lead state and local tax audits and ensure Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
• Review tax work of junior staff and mentor team members.
• Stay current on state/provincial tax legislation and anticipate tax issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tax compliance or related financial roles.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Strong analytical ability to identify critical tax elements and develop solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of state and local sales/use tax laws and regulations.
• Experience with Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
• Proficiency in tax‑compliance research and documentation.
