Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Forklifts, Diesel & Electrical Diagnostics

About the role

WMH Solutions is seeking a Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic to provide advanced diagnostics, expert repairs, and proactive maintenance for forklifts and other material handling equipment. The role combines field service, technical leadership, and mentorship of junior technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites in a company‑provided van to service, repair, and maintain forklifts, heavy machinery, and material handling equipment.
• Perform complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting, including repairs of pumps, hoses, valves, cylinders, wiring, sensors, controllers and motors.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance, inspections, and safety checks to maximize equipment uptime.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, setting service standards and guiding skill development.
• Maintain accurate service reports, repair logs, and ensure compliance with OSHA and industry regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a mechanic/technician in material handling, heavy equipment, or automotive environments.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting ability and advanced knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• ASE certification preferred (brakes, electrical, diesel, preventative maintenance) and forklift certification a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied weather conditions.
