Senior Healthcare Integration Engineer (Remote)

About the role

VetsEZ is seeking a Senior Healthcare Integration Engineer to support a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This 100% remote position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex integration solutions for EHR, claims, public‑health, and HIE data sources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, configure, deploy, and support source‑system interfaces, integration configurations, data pipelines, and exchange services.
• Perform data mapping, transformation, message routing, interface testing, defect resolution, and production support.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, FHIR specialists, onboarding teams, vendors, and facility technical teams to resolve integration issues.
• Maintain interface configurations, runbooks, operational documentation, and other integration artifacts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Healthcare Informatics or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in healthcare interoperability and enterprise application integration.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to resolve complex data‑flow issues.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Government/Public Trust clearance.

Required skills

• Healthcare standards: HL7, FHIR, MLLP, APIs.
• Data integration tools and pipelines (e.g., Apache NiFi).
• Programming/scripting: Java, XML, JSON, SQL.
• Experience with healthcare interface engines and enterprise integration technologies.
