Senior Graphic Artist

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Senior Graphic Artist to join its Marketing Communications (MarCom) team. In this role you will lead the creation of visual assets that support the university’s education, research, and clinical programs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce high‑quality graphics for print, web, and social media.
• Collaborate with marketing, communications, and clinical teams to ensure brand consistency.
• Manage the end‑to‑end production process, including vendor coordination and quality control.
• Maintain and organize the department’s digital asset library.
• Mentor junior designers and provide creative direction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in a higher‑education or healthcare setting.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of print and digital work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Solid understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and branding.
• Experience with digital media production and print production processes.
