Senior Fullstack Software Engineer – Authoring Experience

About the role

Vanta is looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to lead the Authoring Experience team. You will shape the architecture of critical platform services, mentor engineers, and build both backend APIs and customer‑facing interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design, rollout, and migration of core platform services.
• Define and enforce standards for secure, reliable, and developer‑friendly customer APIs.
• Integrate services across Vanta’s platform, collaborating with data‑platform teams on access patterns.
• Drive RFCs and decision records to make architectural choices transparent and durable.
• Mentor engineers, expand review capacity, and support team health with the Engineering Manager.
• Develop backend services with TypeScript and Node.js, and contribute React‑based front‑end experiences.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• 8+ years of backend development experience building reliable, scalable, fault‑tolerant systems.
• Proven track record designing and shipping external or public product APIs, including contracts, versioning, and authentication.
• Strong systems thinking with fluency in service boundaries and data‑layer design.
