Senior Financial Crimes Investigator (AML)

About the role

AML RightSource, a technology-enabled managed services firm helping financial institutions, FinTechs and corporations with AML/BSA, transaction monitoring, KYC, EDD and risk management, is hiring a Senior Financial Crimes Investigator (AML) on a remote basis. The role involves detecting suspicious financial activity, ensuring regulatory compliance and performing quality control, with the possibility of supervising junior analysts. It is an evergreen position with ongoing hiring.

Key responsibilities

• Identify data anomalies and red flags related to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and sanctions violations, and escalate cases for second-level review
• Verify client identities and the purpose of their relationship with the financial institution in line with KYC procedures
• Perform quality control tasks and submit written work for review by internal and client quality control teams
• Support advanced tasks such as client communication, analysis of production data and creation of client-specific aids and training materials
• Provide independent support to analysts on workflow and administrative items, and meet deadlines and procedures
• Comply with federal and state laws, AML requirements and company policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree completed
• Ability to investigate suspicious activity, analyse findings and write detailed Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
• Strong knowledge of financial or banking industries and related regulations
• Proven ability to meet and exceed daily production goals
• Receptive to feedback, quick learner and adaptable to new technologies

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Strong written and oral communication, with the ability to summarise recommendations and conclusions
• Analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
