Senior Financial Analyst

About the role

Book of the Month is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support its Finance and Accounting function. You will work across financial and operational planning projects, ensuring forecasts are accurate and timely for the entire organization.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to forecast inventory and demand for membership, books, paper, non‑book inventory, and new product launches.
• Update and monitor financial forecasts, validating assumptions in company‑wide financial models.
• Maintain daily demand forecasts across multiple cycles to optimize stock levels, reduce obsolescence, and support labor planning.
• Assist the Controller and FP&A managers in month‑end close and monthly financial reporting.
• Partner with senior leadership to research, model, and analyze corporate and business‑development opportunities.
• Provide ad‑hoc analytical support across the business.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, financial planning, investment banking, consulting, data analytics, or a similar quantitative role.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, operations, data, mathematics, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to read, interpret, and analyze data.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative work style.
• Interest in commercial fiction and/or e‑commerce.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Experience building reports and dashboards in a BI tool (a plus).
