Senior Filling Set‑up Technician – Operations (Onsite)

About the role

This first‑shift (07:30 AM‑4:00 PM) position supports sterile dosage form development and GMP clinical supply at the FLEx‑Sterile team in Rahway, NJ. The Senior Technician will perform hands‑on processing activities such as sterile filling, lyophilization, and capping while ensuring compliance with cGMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and change over filling lines, execute machinability runs, and make mechanical/electrical adjustments to keep GMP runs smooth.
• Operate large isolators and fillers, perform aseptic interventions, and conduct routine microbial and particulate sampling.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, EHS, Engineering and Formulation teams to drive continuous improvement and support equipment commissioning and qualification.

Required profile

• High School diploma/GED minimum; Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, military, automotive, aviation or industrial environment with equipment set‑up, change‑over and troubleshooting.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb, work in Grade C cleanroom attire, and perform overtime as needed.

Required skills

• Sterile filling, lyophilization, capping, and isolator operation.
• PLC programming, HMI navigation, and vision‑system integration.
• Robotic positioning and remote pendant control.
• Electronic documentation systems (PAS‑X preferred) and SAP/ERP usage.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for record‑keeping.
