Senior Field Service Engineer

About the role

Moog is looking for a Senior Field Service Engineer to join its Digital Airfield Solutions unit. The role combines field service support across North America with business development activities, delivering technical expertise to military and commercial customers while helping grow the Americas market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions with customers, partners and vendors across the full DAS product portfolio.
• Manage proposals for formal tenders and unsolicited bids.
• Install, commission and calibrate electronic and control‑based systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical and software issues in fielded equipment.
• Perform factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs) and support customer validation activities.
• Provide on‑site and remote technical support, including after‑hours assistance to minimize downtime.
• Prepare detailed service reports documenting work performed and recommendations for improvements.
• Deliver technical training for customers and internal teams, both classroom and hands‑on.
• Assist in creating training materials and “train‑the‑trainer” content.
• Maintain strict safety standards when working with high‑voltage and moving equipment.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management and Manufacturing to resolve issues and improve products.
• Travel 30‑50% across the North America region.

Required profile

• Strong technical background with advanced electronic systems, systems integration, radar, laser and optical technologies.
• Proven experience liaising with U.S. Military customers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting complex electronic or electromechanical systems.
• Deep understanding of test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers and power meters.
