Senior FHIR & Interoperability Test Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FHIR & Interoperability Test Engineer to support a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This 100% remote position provides centralized technical assistance to healthcare facilities, vendors, developers, and integration partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot integration, connectivity, configuration, onboarding, and data‑exchange issues across EHR, HIE, FHIR, API, and interface services.
• Collaborate with engineering, onboarding, testing, and platform teams to identify root causes, coordinate resolutions, and validate fixes.
• Maintain technical knowledge base, troubleshooting procedures, support documentation, and known‑issue records.
• Document defects, configuration changes, and recurring issues to support continuous improvement and user adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Healthcare Informatics or related field.
• 7+ years of experience providing technical support for complex software or healthcare technology environments.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Government/Public Trust clearance.

Required skills

• Extensive experience with healthcare interoperability technologies: EHR, HIE, FHIR, APIs, and interface engines.
• Root cause analysis, connectivity troubleshooting, configuration support, defect resolution, and validation testing.
• Knowledge base management, technical documentation, and known‑issue tracking.
