Senior Environmental Engineer – Water

About the role

Join Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) as a Senior Environmental Engineer focused on water management at the Carlin operation. You will lead water‑related compliance programs, oversee hydrologic investigations, and ensure the safe and sustainable use of water resources in a gold mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead compliance for water permits, including pollution control, potable water, stormwater, and dewatering.
• Conduct and supervise regulatory inspections on‑site and off‑site.
• Direct hydrologic investigations, well‑drilling design, and reporting of water level and quality data.
• Manage complex permitting processes and coordinate with subject‑matter experts on technical water issues.
• Mentor Environmental Engineers, Specialists, and Technicians; oversee data collection and reporting.
• Coordinate contractors, control project budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders across Carlin, NGM, and Barrick.
• Ensure alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 health, safety, and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of environmental compliance experience, with at least 3 years in an industrial setting.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience and proven ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
