Senior Engineer, Investment Technology

About the role

Invesco is looking for a Senior Engineer to design, build, and support the technology platform behind its ETF business. The role works closely with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and global business teams to deliver high‑performance, scalable solutions for portfolio construction, trading, analytics, and operational workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Institutionalize AI‑assisted development using tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and AWS Bedrock.
• Design, develop, and maintain data‑engineering pipelines and platform services for the Vision platform and model delivery ecosystem.
• Build robust Python‑based services, APIs, and micro‑services that support portfolio analytics, optimization, and data routing.
• Develop and optimise SQL‑based data processing in PostgreSQL and SQL Server, including complex queries and large‑scale ETL workflows.
• Implement distributed, event‑driven architectures (e.g., Kafka) to enable scalable, asynchronous processing.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in data engineering, application development, and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to deliver production‑grade solutions with a focus on reliability and low operational risk.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work across global, cross‑functional teams.
